This amazing early 1900s stereo view card shows John Brown’s Fort at Harpers Ferry in West Virginia . John Browns entire life was spent in an “ eternal war with slavery” In 1859 he attacked Harpers Ferry and seized this engine house. Several nearby plantations were raided and about thirty slaves taken. The next day Col. Robert E.Lee came upon the scene. Brown was taken prisoner, tried for treason condemned and Executed Dec.2 , 1859 By being Hanged . This incredible Stereoscope card appears to be in very good condition with minor rounded corners and dirt marks and dirt smudges. The card was published by Keystone View Company.
