    Description

This genuine antique Currier & Ives hand-colored lithograph print, ca. 1865, "MY FIRST PLAYMATE," pictures a devoted Newfoundland dog (black with white chest) held by a little blonde girl in a green armchair.
The Civil War era print, bearing the address of 152 Nassau St., New York [City] is age-toned, with 2 small edge tears and top right corner tear, all flattened and not immediately noticeable under the frame's glass. Its borders have been cut down and it has been reframed in a 14" x 11" 20th c. mottled tortoise/gilt frame which has slight wear to its finish. New sturdy hanging wire on back.
